Dr. Brown received her doctorate in clinical psychology at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, a training program accredited by the American Psychological Association, in 2011. Her doctoral training had a health psychology emphasis, and she completed a predoctoral fellowship in behavioral research in oncology funded by the National Institutes of Health. During her doctoral training, she gained experience providing psychotherapy in the cancer context at Indiana University (IU) Simon Cancer Center. She also completed a 1-year behavioral medicine internship at the prestigious Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania, and completed postdoctoral training by providing services at IU Bloomington Counseling and Psychological Services.
In addition to seeing clients in private practice, Dr. Brown also teaches Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) in the Bloomington community and to faculty and staff at Indiana University through the Healthy IU employee wellness program. She has attended professional training through the Center For Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts and incorporates mindfulness in her therapy practice. She collaborates in research through the IU Schools of Medicine and Public Health.
